Opening of the Creative Neuroscience Lab

The CNS Lab - Centre for Integrated Structural and Functional studies of the Central Nervous System was officially opened on 20 February 2015 at the Military Institute of Aviation Medicine (MIAM).

The CNS Lab is the fourth laboratory in Europe and ninth in the world equipped with a high-end MRI scanner and one of the world’s first clinical hyperpolarisers. The laboratory is a joint project of the consortium consisted of the Nałęcz Institute of Biocybernetics and Biomedical Engineering (IBBE) Polish Academy of Sciences and MIAM. It was built with funds from the Innovative Economy Operational Programme. The CNS Lab will carry out comprehensive studies on the central nervous system.

The CNS Lab opening was attended by distinguished guests, including: professor Włodzisław Duch, Deputy Minister of Science; professor Michał Kleiber, President of the Polish Academy of Sciences and  Krzysztof Sikora, Co-ordinator and Adviser to the Minister of Defence. The guests were welcomed by Col PhD Olaf Truszczyński, Director of MIAM and professor Adam Liebert, Director of IBBE.

Minister Duch said that the CNS Lab is an example of strengthening of Polish research and scientific infrastructure.
